Natural Dales Wool Products was formed in August 2021 after Ruth had an idea to develop products from mountain wool, using local fleeces from Wensleydale for peatland restoration, replacing non-indigenous coconut fibre products.
Ruth Lindsey is the fourth generation of a West Yorkshire textile family, and industrial textiles are woven into her DNA.
To address the challenge of meeting the demand for peat restoration products, Ruth met with Jo Dawson, owner of H Dawson Wool, and a partnership was formed to develop a groundbreaking approach to peatland restoration. Jo became the catalyst for change by creating The Woolkeepers®, which ensures fair payment to farmers through independently verified pipelines that deliver innovative and valuable wool products to the market.
